Summer is a season filled with sunshine, warmth, and beauty. What better way to enjoy this warmth and beauty than with great friends and good food? These were exactly my thoughts as I recently planned a Summer Flower Arranging Ladies Brunch.
The day of the brunch was wonderful. I enjoyed sitting down with old and new friends, ready to tackle a project that would highlight the beauty of the summer season. We were blessed to have Kelli of Country Bouquets Floral lead our DIY session. Kelli is a talented local florist from Mount Vernon, with extensive knowledge in flower design, care, and style. Her creativity inspired stunning design ideas from the group and her friendly demeanor made the event truly enjoyable.
I decided to go with a red and mint color palette for my arrangement. The inspiration for this color palette stemmed from a linen tablecloth I picked up from the Farm Chick Show earlier this month. I found the perfect invitation that matched the tablecloth at Paperless Post.
In addition to the flower arrangements, my guests enjoyed the favor bags I put together. Each favor bag contained Felco red-handled flower pruners, floral tape, lip gloss from Anthropologie, and some chocolate (what’s a party without chocolate?).
My friend Whitney sweetened up the day with a delectable strawberry flower cake.
The brunch was amazing, not only because it was filled with the beauty of summer flowers, but because it reminded me of the beauty of friendship. We often become so busy with life that we lose track of time, and it may be months (or even years) between visits with even the very best of friends. However, when we come back together, it seems like no time has passed at all. The thing about true friendship is that it never changes, even with the passage of time. Friendship is such a valuable gift, and days like this ensure that I will never forget that.
