Recently I came across White Claw Hard Seltzer. It comes in three flavors, Natural Lime, Ruby Grapefruit and Black Cherry. My favorite is the Black Cherry. I am having so much fun making my own fruit syrups to add to drinks, serve over ice cream or drizzle on pancakes. The possibilities are endless. Here is a recipe for a cherry syrup that I used with my White Claw Black Cherry Seltzer. For kiddos you could mix the Cherry Syrup with sparkly water.
Ingredients:
2 pounds cherries, pitted and halved
½ cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup water
Directions
- Combine the cherries, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil
- Cook over medium-high heat for about 20 minutes
- Reduce to a simmer and cook an additional 10 minutes
- Remove from heat and strain
- Let the syrup cool at room temperature
- Poor into a jar and keep in the refrigerator
- Store up to 2 weeks
To make the Cherry Spritzer, pour cherry syrup into glass, slowly pour in the White Claw Hard Seltzer, garnish with a cherry.
