Every year, I can’t wait to see what my daughter will request for her birthday party theme. This year, she’s been really into fairies so I already had a hunch that a Fairy Birthday would be how we celebrated her turning seven. Since I knew the weather wasn’t ideal for outdoor festivities, I improvised by picking up some wooden pallets that I used to create additional tables. Then, I used a little creativity to turn our house into a magical fairy playland.
Make Picture Perfect Place Settings
To dress up my homemade tables, I used little pieces of wood that I found on Etsy that were personalized with hand painted names of each guest. Then, I added a touch of whimsy by setting butterfly wings I found on Amazon at each place. It gave the girls an instant fairy accessory to wear as they crafted.
Plan Creative Activities
My daughter and her friends love crafting so I set out loose flowers with wires attached for the girls to make crowns. This activity was so fun and easy that the girls had a blast as they twisted the flowers and ribbons onto their twine crowns. They also made fairy necklaces by lacing flower cut outs and Fruit Loops onto matching ribbons. I also have to give a shout out to my friend Andie who is a talented graphic designer. She did face painting with the girls and created an amazing Silvermist photo prop that made our birthday pictures fantastic!
Finish with a Flourish
After the day’s events, I served the girls a chocolate cake I made that was covered in crushed Thin Mints and topped with an adorable fairy. Then, the girls enjoyed watching Tinkerbell’s Neverbeast before they all drifted off to sleep.
