Easter is such a fun holiday and this year we thought it would be fun to put together a Easter Party for our Peeps. It seems people either love or hate Peeps. I fall into the camp that loves them. I love their sugary coating, the gooey marshmallow and I absolutely love the bright spring colors they come in.
For our party I picked up some easy Easter decorations and decorated a centerpiece table with lavender plates, a bunny filled with utensils and an pastel colored felt ball garland.
I used bunny ears napkin rings from Target’s $1 bins as adornments for glass milk bottles filled with orange juice.
When it was time for dessert there were lots of Peep treats.
Peep S’mores. Who says you can only enjoy s’mores when camping. Grab an assortment of Peeps, Hershey Chocolate Bars and Graham Crackers and you are ready to make a super tasty treat. All you do is sandwich the chocolate a peep in between the crackers and microwave for about 10 seconds.
Peep drinks. For this drink drizzle some simple syrup on the rim and drip it in your favorite sprinkles. I used sprinkles from Dell Cove Spice Company. For the adult version I used 2 ounces of Cake Flavored Vodka, 1 ounce of Crème de Cocoa and 1 ounce of Heavy Whipping Cream. For kiddo version we used milk and with some vanilla.
Peep Cake. Easiest of all is a Sunflower Peep Cake. To make this cake make your favorite chocolate cake. I love this recipe from Add a Pinch. After the cake is baked I like to freeze it overnight. It is much easier to frost when it has been frozen and it also stays nice and moist. Next frost the cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. You don’t have to worry too much about how it looks since the cake will be covered.
Once it has a good layer of frosting lay the peeps on the edge of the cake to form an outer circle.
Lastly pour Tollhouse Chocolate Chips in the center.
Super easy and sure to be a kid favorite. You can view the full recipe and print it here.
For our Peep Party favors, I created a Peep on a stick and attached a tag made by Lauren Haddox Design.
I also put together a basket of Peep backpack clip stuffies for each guest to take home with them.
We love our Peeps and it is fun to celebrate Easter with them!
