Do you need a quick and easy Halloween treat? These Mummy Cupcakes are just for you. All you need are chocolate cupcakes, a flat frosting tip, a pastry bag, some Wilton eyes and buttercream frosting. For the frosting you can make your own or if you are in a hurry you can use store bought frosting. The step by step directions are provided below.
Mummy Cupcake Directions:
- Make a dozen chocolate cupcakes. I used this recipe from add a pinch.
- Make buttercream frosting (recipe below).
- Dab a small amount of frosting on the back of the eyes and stick them to the cupcakes.
- Using a pastry bag and flat tip pipe a line across the cupcake.
- Continue to pipe the strips in layers across the cupcake in crisscross pattern.
Buttercream Frosting:
- 2 sticks of butter
- 4 cups of powdered sugar
- 3 ½ tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until smooth.
- Add in the powdered sugar and mix until it is all blended together.
- Add in the heavy cream (start with 2 tablespoons and add a little more if needed), vanilla extract, and continue mixing on medium-high speed until it reaches your desired consistency.
