I was honored to put together a 75th birthday party for a friend’s mom this past weekend. According to my friend, her mom loves flowers and cocktails and she wanted to incorporate them into the party.
Juniper Flowers helped me create these beautiful flower hoops which we hung on the wall. They are made out of a variety of sizes of embroidery hoops which I picked up at Joanns.
Because the Farmer’s Market is teeming with beautiful flowers we used lots of bouquets scattered about on the tables. I also created two centerpiece boxes using flowers from the market and lilacs from my backyard tree.
For the cocktail station, I had Lauren, at CreatifDesigns4You, create a graphic sign which I had printed at Kinkos. This was simple to hang on the wall with just a few Command Strips.
I also placed large paper flowers around the sign that matched her favorite colors of flowers.
For appetizers I put together a charcuterie board with black grapes, salami, 3 types of cheese, crackers, strawberries and smoked salmon. I also made a little tray of cantaloupe, prosciutto and basil.
For the birthday cake the host requested salted lime margarita from Baked located in West Seattle. They made a semi-naked cake which I decorated with flowers from Juniper.
To send the guests we created little red and orange flowers planted in corrugated tin pots tied with a cute tag and ribbon. Turning 75 is a major milestone and it was so much fun to help create a memorable celebration.
