I am so excited for the upcoming release of Beauty and the Beast. As they say it is a tale as old as time. To celebrate the new release, we put together a Beauty and the Beast Tea Party.
I used a bright yellow ruffled shower curtain as a backdrop. I created a Be Our Guest Sign which I printed out at Kinkos and hung with red velvet ribbon. For the table cloth I started with a basic white table cloth and covered it with white tulle. On top of that I draped a yard of blue satin fabric from Joanns and attached some yellow tulle and some silk red roses.
I was able to repurposed an old candelabra with a quick coat of gold spray paint.
At the craft store I picked up a paper mache book which I painted with acrylic paint and used a transfer sticker with the words “Beauty is found within” I also attached some rose cutouts to the cover.
In addition to using some things that I already had, I picked up an adorable Chip mug which I used to hold popcorn.
And of course you have to have the magical rose. I found everything I needed to put this together at Hobby Lobby and simply hot glued the rose to the globe’s base.
For the table settings I used gold chargers and red paper plates. I wrapped blue party utensils in a yellow paper napkin and attached a rose with some twine.
For the food I served simple lemon tarts with raspberries, cucumber tea sandwiches, madeleine cookies and grapes.
I also couldn’t pass up serving red mum cupcakes.
For beverages I filled plastic champagne flutes with Rose with Rosehips Nonalcoholic Sparkling Juice from World Market. It added an elegant touch.
And of course we had to have tea. I absolutely love Harney and Sons Chocolate Mint Tea.
For the party favors, I painted wooden mirrors yellow and attached rose embellishments and a red velvet ribbon that can be used to hang the mirror.
For an activity we made Belle’s yellow dress out of feet. This tea party was so much fun!
I hope you enjoy the movie!
