Growing up my husband’s family threw a 4th of July party every summer at their lake house in Old Lyme, Connecticut. When I joined the family, I saw how much fun it was to get together with family and friends to celebrate this special holiday.
My friend Lauren of CreatifDesigns4You created some labels for me which I used for the food buffet table.
Food for the 4th of July doesn’t have to be fancy. Just grab some hotdogs, popcorn and potato chips and you are good to go.
To drink we choose Raspberry Lemonade and Coca Cola.
For desserts I made a tray of brownie sundaes in waffle cones. To make these you simply make your favorite brownies in a muffin tin. After they are done, plop one into a waffle bowl, drizzle with white candy melts and add sprinkles. For garnish, stick in a wooden spoon and a little flag. Super easy and the kids will love them.
I also made Mason jar chocolate cakes because you can never have too much cake in my world.
For fun we filled a tub up with red, white and blue water balloons. You can use these to play a game of toss or let the kids go wild.
Have a safe and fun 4th of July!
